# Workspaces

A workspace is where the work happens — maps, sites, campaigns, and the team that delivers them, all scoped to one operating area.

A workspace holds everything you plan and everything you track. If you only run
one area, you will spend all of your time in a single workspace and never think
about the layer above it.

boundaries, and statistical layers Prenso uses to build routes.

## How the pieces relate

Maps and sites are your **inventory** — durable things that outlive any one
distribution. A map of Newtown is still the map of Newtown next quarter. A
hoarding site is the same fence whether you use it this election or not.

Campaigns are your **activity**. A campaign takes maps from the inventory and
assigns them to people as deliveries, and takes sites from the inventory and
records them as placements. Nothing is copied — you are recording what happened
to lasting things during a defined period.

That split is why you can ask both "which areas have we covered?" and "how did
the March newsletter go?" without maintaining two sets of records.

## Moving between workspaces

Use the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar. It lists every workspace
you have access to, across every organisation you belong to. Each workspace has
its own URL — `prenso.app/acme/wellington` — so links you share land where you
expect.

> Workspaces don't share maps, sites, or team members. Choosing how to split
> your organisation is worth doing deliberately — see

## Guides

Prenso ships short interactive walkthroughs of the main screens. Find them under
**Guides** in the sidebar. They run inside the real interface rather than in a
video, and they remember where you got to, so you can leave one halfway and pick
it up later.
