Organisations
An organisation holds your plan, your billing, and the people who can sign in to Prenso. Everything else lives in the workspaces beneath it.
Your organisation is created with your first workspace and sits above everything else in Prenso. It answers three questions:
- What are you paying for? The plan, and the limits that come with it.
- Who can sign in? Organisation members and their roles.
- What can they reach once they do? Which workspaces each member sees.
Everything operational — maps, routes, campaigns, sites, delivery teams — lives in a workspace, not here.
One organisation is usually enough
Most customers never think about the organisation layer. It only starts to matter when you run more than one area, or when different people should see different areas.
Plans and limits
Your plan sets three limits. Two are counted per workspace, one across the whole organisation.

Prenso stops you at the limit rather than letting a create fail halfway: the button turns off and tells you where you stand, for example Map limit reached (3/3). Deleting a map or site frees the slot immediately.

The organisation view
Owners and admins have a view of the organisation itself, separate from any workspace. Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose the organisation rather than one of its workspaces. The sidebar then shows three sections:
- Maps — every workspace's maps, sites, and data layers on one canvas. See Organisation map.
- Members — who can sign in, and which workspaces they reach. See Users and roles.
- Settings — the details below.
People with the Member role don't see this view; for them the switcher lists organisations only as headings over their workspaces.
Organisation settings
Open Settings in the organisation view. Owners and admins can manage:
- Name and logo. The logo appears in the workspace switcher, so people working across several workspaces can tell them apart at a glance.
- Plan and billing. Upgrade, downgrade, or open the billing portal to update payment details and download invoices.
- Capabilities. The vocabulary for what people actually do in the field.
Capabilities
A capability is a skill or a role in the field — leafletting, door knocking, phone calling, hoarding site owner, signwriting, event help. Prenso seeds every new organisation with those six suggestions; rename, remove, and add to them freely.
Capabilities are defined once for the whole organisation rather than per workspace. If you run one workspace per region, "door knocking" means the same thing in every one, so you can compare across them and move people between them without re-tagging.
Each team member can hold any number of capabilities.
