People
The people your organisation has shared with a workspace — find them, filter them, record what you learn, and see them on the map.
People are the individuals you want to reach: electors from a roll, supporters from a CRM, residents on a mailing list. Your organisation holds them and decides which workspaces can see whom, so a workspace only ever lists the people shared with it.
Who can open People
Workspace managers. Everyone else reaches people through the activities they are assigned, and sees only what that activity asks for.
Where people come from
An organisation owner or admin imports them and allocates them to workspaces. If your list looks empty or short, that is the place to look: a workspace sees a person only when the organisation has given it access to them.
Finding people
People lists everyone the workspace can see. Search by name, contact details, ID, or address, or open Filter and build conditions:
- Name or contact — a name, ID, mobile, landline, email, or gender.
- Home address — suburb, town or city, state, or postcode.
- Area — an electorate, meshblock, or other area code that came with the import.
- Age — worked out from the birth information you hold, which may be an exact date or only a range.
- Tag and Custom field — anything you have recorded yourself.
- Contact history — who has or hasn't been reached, and with what outcome.
- Inside route turf — everyone whose home falls within a route.
Conditions can match all or any. A filter that uses a tag or field which has since been archived tells you so rather than quietly matching everyone.
A person's page
Open anyone to see and edit:
- Details and opt-outs. Name, mobile, landline, email, notes, and five separate switches: no contact at all, no visits, no calls, no mail, no email. No calls covers both numbers. Opt-outs are honoured automatically when you build an activity.
- Addresses. A home address and, if it differs, a postal one. Prenso matches the home address to its address data to place the person on the map. If the match is wrong or missing, edit the address or enter coordinates yourself.
- Tags and custom fields. See below.
- Interactions. Every conversation recorded with them, with the answers given. Record interaction logs one that happened outside an activity.
- History. What changed, when, and whether a person, an import, or a canvasser changed it.
Tags and custom fields
Tags are labels — Member, Volunteer, Do not doorknock: dog. Custom fields hold an answer: text, a number, yes or no, one choice from a list, or several.
Both can belong to the organisation, so every workspace shares the same vocabulary, or to one workspace. An organisation can also mark a tag or field read-only, which lets workspaces see it without changing it. Manage them from the Tags and Custom fields buttons at the top of People.
Archiving a tag or field hides it from new work and keeps it in history, so old records still read correctly.
Seeing people on the map
Choose Show on map to open Explore with the People layer on and your current filter applied. The map follows the filter rather than the search box, so clear any search first. Click a point for a summary; click again, or choose Open, for the full page. Several people at one address are listed together.
People without a matched address don't appear on the map. They are marked in the list so you can find and fix them.

Campaigns and deliveries
A campaign is one push — a leaflet drop, its hoardings, and the door knocking around it. Assign the work, send the links, and track what has been covered.
Activities
Door knocking and phone calling — choose who to reach, decide what to ask, assign your team, and record every conversation.
